Biography
Professor Samuel Adomako holds the Chair in Entrepreneurship at Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham, and is Professor Extraordinaire at the University of South Africa and Visiting Professor at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He received his PhD in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Warwick and is a Fellow of Advance HE. He has been named on Stanford University’s roster of the top two per cent of scientists globally for citation impact and has accumulated more than 10,000 Google Scholar citations. He has received the Birmingham Business School Outstanding Research Award for three consecutive years — 2023, 2024 and 2025. His research examines the cognitive and behavioural processes supporting entrepreneurship, innovation and behavioural strategy. He has published more than 130 ABS 3/4 journal articles and edited four books, with work appearing in the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, the Journal of Management Studies, Research Policy, The Leadership Quarterly, the Journal of Product Innovation Management and the British Journal of Management. He sits on the advisory boards of the British Journal of Management, the International Small Business Journal and the International Business Review, and is an Associate Editor of Business Strategy and the Environment. He is lead editor of Inclusive Entrepreneurship in Africa (Routledge, 2026) and Technology Entrepreneurship in Africa, and a co-editor of the forthcoming Palgrave Handbook of Strategic Entrepreneurship. He is an active supporter of the Academy of Management Ghana.
