Dr Irene Chu

Biography

Dr Irene Chu is Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in International Management at Newcastle University Business School and Degree Programme Director for the BSc (Hons) International Business Management. She holds an MBA and a PhD from Durham University Business School and brings substantial industry experience from the public and private sectors in Taiwan and the United Kingdom. She joined Newcastle from the University of Bradford School of Management, where she was Associate Professor in Business Ethics and Cross-Cultural Studies, Programme Leader for the MSc International Business and Management and UN PRME Lead for the School. She has also held a post at York St John University Business School. Her research examines ethics, sustainability and entrepreneurship across Eastern and Western contexts, with particular attention to virtue ethics and institutional logics. Her work appears in The Leadership Quarterly, the British Journal of Management, the Journal of Business Ethics and the Journal of Business Research
