Entry requirements

  • First degree with, at least, Second Class Lower Division in Statistics, Mathematics and/or Actuarial Science or any quantitative-related programme with substantial mathematical content.
  • Holders of Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics.
  • Applicants with a third class in Statistics, Mathematics Actuarial Science or any quantitative-related programme with substantial mathematical content and proven competency.
  • A statement of purpose (500-1,000 words) that explains the candidate's motivation pursuing the Data Science program, career goals, and how the program aligns with their professional aspirations.
  • English language: IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) or equivalent for international applicants
  • All foreign qualifications shall be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission.
  • 2 letters of recommendation

Graduation requirements

  • Students should have passed all registered taught courses, obtained a minimum of 39 credits, and achieved a minimum cumulative weighted average (CGPA) of 2.0 at the end of the programme.
  • Students should have submitted an MSc dissertation of at least 15,000 words.
  • Students are also required to give a seminar(s) and pass an oral examination on their theses.
